The other nugget of information that Hall dropped on Twitter is that the standard model of Google Pixel 4a will come with 128GB of storage - twice the amount found in the base model of the iPhone SE which has just 64GB. It’s also quite the looker if the above renders from Pigtou and xleaks (opens in new tab) based on leaked CAD drawings are accurate. Other rumors have pointed towards the Google Pixel 4a having a 5.8-inch OLED screen, which is significantly better offering than the 4.7-inch Retina display that the iPhone SE offers. This makes sense, given that the current budget model, the Google Pixel 3a (opens in new tab) also has an OLED screen (and is one of the cheapest phones to feature the technology). Alongside the shiny OLED screen, the Google Pixel 4a will also reportedly be packing a 3,080 mAh battery, almost double the size of the iPhone SE’s 1821 mAh battery. For reference, the Google Pixel 3a has a 3000 mAh battery and Tom’s Guide (opens in new tab) found that it could operate for 12 hours of continuous use before it needed recharging. It also features fast charge, so we can safely assume that the Google Pixel 4a will too. According to reportedly leaked internal documents from Vodafone (opens in new tab), the Google Pixel 4a was originally intended to launch on 22nd May, but given that we’re only a week away from that date, it seems unlikely as Google usually announces new devices at least a week before the launch. Given the current coronavirus pandemic and the effect it has had on the tech and retail industries, a small delay isn’t surprising. We’re thinking that June will be the likely reveal and release of the Google Pixel 4a.
