The phones offer a lot of powerful technology for the price. Both phones use Google’s new eight-core Tensor processor which aims to be more powerful than, well, anything else you can think of in a high-end phone. Alongside that, both devices also include a rear camera array that features a 50-megapixel main sensor which should delight everyone that loves to take photos while out and about.  Where things differ slightly is in terms of size. The Google Pixel 6 has a 6.4-inch Full HD screen with a 90Hz refresh rate while the Google Pixel Pro upgrades that to a 6.7-inch 1,440p screen with 120Hz refresh rate. It also has more narrow bezels. Elsewhere, while both phones have the main 50-megapixel camera, the Google Pixel 6 Pro ups the ante a bit. It has a 48-megapixel telephoto lens with 4x optical zoom along with a 11.1megapixel selfie camera and wider-angle lens compared to the Pixel 6’s 8-megapixel selfie camera. Both phones benefit from plenty of new photography features too such as a Face Unblur tool and some neat tweaks to improve your images. The Pixel 6 Pro also has a larger battery and more RAM so it should be a fair bit better at multitasking.

Google Pixel 6 and Pixel 6 Pro phones are out next week

Impressively, despite all the power involved, both Google Pixel 6 phones should also last more than 24 hours between charges which is pretty good going by modern standards. Looks wise, they feel suitably premium too with Google using a glass back with curved edges so they should feel rather classy in your hands. Backed up by Android 12, there are some Pixel exclusive features too such as the Material You UI which provides a smart looking experience by taking the primary color elements of your phone’s wallpaper rather than applying them throughout the system. Google has also revamped its speech recognition software so it’s better at understanding you and figuring out what you might need. It’s even able to translate languages as you’re typing too. It’s possible to preorder the Google Pixel 6 and Google Pixel 6 Pro now with the Google Pixel 6 costing $599 (opens in new tab) and the Google Pixel 6 Pro available for $899 (opens in new tab). Both will be available from October 28th.
